Getting really good at Valorant requires more than just good aim and game knowledge. Timing is crucial. Quick decisions and perfect execution can determine the outcome for both teams and individual players.
Every dedicated Valorant player should consider customizing their keybinds to enhance their speed and gameplay quality. This article will cover the best Valorant Keybinds, how to adjust them, and the keybinds used by professional players.
Best Valorant Keybinds
Our keybinds are designed so that the most important inputs are easy to reach, with each finger handling a different action. We focus on placing essential inputs around the WASD movement keys since that’s where our ring, middle, and index fingers naturally rest.
Abilities
We’ve put together a list of the best keybinds for Valorant based on data from pro players and our own suggestions. Your keybinds might vary depending on your keyboard setup, finger size, and muscle memory from other games.
The keybinds for using or equipping abilities are a key part of your Valorant setup. Since abilities are frequently used, it’s important to access them without moving your fingers too far from the WASD movement keys.
We assigned Ability 1 and 2 to Mouse Buttons 4 and 5 to make it easier to use abilities while maintaining control of movement and aim. If you don’t have a gaming mouse, we suggest getting one with at least two side buttons for Valorant.
Ability 3 and Ultimate are bound to the E and Q keys because they are close to WASD. These keys are easy to press, making them ideal for two of the most important actions in Valorant.
Keep in mind that Valorant has many Agents, each with their own unique abilities. The best keybinds for abilities may vary depending on the Agent you choose and how they use their abilities.
Equipment
The Equip inputs are assigned to the number keys 1 to 4 above WASD. Players should practice using these keys to switch weapons and plant the Spike quickly without having to think about it.
These settings are popular among top players, as shown in the chart below, which details pro player pick rates for the Equip Primary Weapon command.
The Cycle Weapon inputs are not bound because pressing a specific key to switch weapons is quicker. If you need to cycle weapons, the tilde or the 5 key are good choices.
Movement
As noted above, the Forward, Back, Strafe Left, and Strafe Right keys are the core around which all other binds are set. These keys are the default in most FPS games.
The Default Movement Mode should always be set to Run, not Walk. Running allows for full-speed strafing, and the Walk function will be assigned to a separate key.
The Walk key is set to L-Shift, making it easy to press with your pinky while keeping full control of WASD. In Valorant, the Walk key is often used to sneak and lower your noise.
Turning off Toggle Walk in Valorant can be quicker since you need two key presses to exit Walk when Toggle is on. If holding the Walk key tires your finger, you can turn this setting on. Likewise, turn off Toggle Crouch to exit crouch instantly without extra key presses.
Weapons
The Weapons keybind settings let players choose between Hold and Toggle for Aim Down Sights and Sniper Rifle Aim. Hold is better because it lets you un-scope before the scope-in animation finishes, reducing response time to other threats.
The Operator Zoom setting lets players Cycle or Toggle between the scope’s two magnification levels. Toggle provides better control, and we’ve set Toggle Zoom Level to L-Alt for easy access with the thumb.
The Auto Re-enter Scope setting is used when Toggle is selected for Sniper Rifle Aim. It automatically scopes back in after firing, allowing for quick follow-up shots on targets.
Interaction
Use Object and Use Spike are important inputs in the Interaction keybind settings, often used in high-pressure moments. We assigned Use Object to the F key for its closeness to WASD and Use Spike to the 4 key to match the Equip Spike keybind.
General/Miscellaneous:
Ping (Tap)/Ping Wheel (Hold): Scroll Wheel Press
Open Armory: B
Open Map (Toggle): M
Open Map (Hold): Caps Lock
Show Scoreboard (Hold): Tab
The Open Armory keybind remains set to the default B key. Although it’s not the easiest key to reach, it’s fine to keep it there since it’s not used during combat.
The Ping (Tap)/Ping Wheel (Hold) key bind is the only one we’ve changed from the default. We chose Scroll Wheel Press so you can keep moving and aiming while pinging for teammates. Holding Scroll Wheel Press lets you choose specific commands from the ping wheel.
